About Us
The Sears Holdings Associate Gospel Choir (SHAGC) is made up of a diverse group of hourly and salaried associates and managers. First started in November of 1996, the choir members volunteer their time and talent to perform at various Chicago-area events. The SHAGC has performed on two nationally televised Sears' commercials and at various grand openings of Sears' flagship stores in the Chicago land area. The choir has also performed in Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit, Memphis, St. Louis, Washington DC and at various Sears' stores, Sears' accounting and distribution centers and now Kmart stores. They have represented the company at the NAACP & Black Caucus, received numerous awards and have appeared many times in various newspapers.

Our Mission
The mission of the Sears Holdings Associate Gospel Choir is to communicate a venerated message through Gospel music.

Community Outreach
The Sears Holdings Associate Gospel Choir incorporates community outreach within its workplace efforts. The choir performed its first "Coats for Kids" concert, a fundraising event to purchase new winter coats for low-income children in Greater Chicago, in 1996. And when the SHAGC recorded the debut CD "Songs of Celebration" in 2001, the choir donated $15,000 to Coats for Kids through proceeds of the CD.
