In 1925, the first Sears store opened on the west side of Chicago. Over 80 years later, Sears now operates over 930 stores across all 50 states and Puerto Rico with each mall-based location averaging 134,000 square feet. With its impressive footprint, Sears is the number 1 retailer of home appliances, lawn mowers and fitness equipment.

We operate 75 Sears Essentials and Sears Grand stores located in 26 states. These store formats are freestanding units averaging 113,000 square feet and offer health and beauty products, pantry goods, household products, and toys in addition to the offerings of the typical mall-based stores.

The Shopping Experience

Sears stores offer a wide array of products across many merchandise categories, including a full assortment of home appliances, consumer electronics, tools, fitness and lawn and garden equipment, automotive services and products such as tires and batteries, home fashion products, apparel, footwear and accessories for the whole family. Through sears.com, customers can now order online and pick-up their merchandise at one of our stores.

Through our Home Services business, Sears distinguishes itself from other retailers by being able to offer customers protection agreements, product installation services, and service contacts which ensures customer satisfaction even after the purchase.

Brands

Sears offers a wide variety of national brands including Levi's, Lee, First Issue, Hanes, Mudd, l.e.i., Dockers, Vanity Fair and Nike. In addition, Sears offers proprietary brands such as Kenmore, Craftsman, DieHard, Lands’ End, Covington, Apostrophe, Structure, Joe Boxer, LL Cool J, Canyon River Blues and Athletech.
